Algarve Information
Friendly people and fabulous food and wine - Algarve is great destination for a holiday.
Right on the very south west tip of Europe, Algarve has an average of over 300 days of sunshine per year, 200 kms of coastline and more than 40 golf courses. There is something for everyone - from scenic nature walks to glitzy nightclubs & casinos.
Getting here and getting around is easy as you can see below, the Algarvians are warm and welcoming, as is the sunshine. English is widely spoken throughout the resorts but just in case you need some Portuguese words, we've listed a few at the end of this section to help you out!
Getting Here
Faro International Airport:
Each of our villas is around 15 minutes drive from the airport. Faro is only two and a half hours flying time from most Northern European cities. Getting Around
Algarve is only 160 km across and 50 from the coast to the neighbouring county, Alentejo. There are two main roads which run East to West across the Algarve the A22 Motorway and the EN125, from which run the roads to the south and the resorts and beaches, or to the North and inland. It's very easy to get around.
There are many reputable hire car companies and drivers must be over 21.
